Peugeot 508 RXH hybrid revealed

  • Combined power output of 197bhp
  • 67.2mpg and 109g/km of CO2
  • On sale in spring 2012

Peugeot has unveiled the 197bhp 508 RXH diesel-electric hybrid.
The four-wheel-drive model is a version of its 508 SW estate, with extra body cladding and a raised ride height. It uses a version of the hybrid diesel powertrain used in the 3008 Hybrid4.
Powered by a 2.0-litre engine and an electric motor, the RXH produces a combined power output of 197bhp. It does an average of 67.2mpg, with CO2 emissions at 109g/km. The Peugeot can also run on electric power alone for short journeys.

As well as its raised ride height, the RXH has chunky wheelarch and sill additions, bespoke bumpers and LED lights to distinguish it from the SW. Standard equipment will include electric front seats, 18-inch wheels, a head-up display, panoramic tinted glass roof and Peugeot's latest-generation audio and sat-nav equipment.
Further details will be revealed ahead of its appearance at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
The 508 RXH will go on sale across Europe in spring 2012
