2012 Buick Verano starts at $22,595

2012 Buick Verano We now know the Canadian prices of the 2012 Buick Verano, a car that will quickly become a great alternative for drivers after an affordable luxury sedan.

Four trim levels are available, all powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that delivers 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque.

Starting at $22,595, the base Verano features 17-inch alloy wheels, ABS brakes, 10 airbags, automatic climate control, power windows and steering wheel-mounted radio controls.

The top-level model retails for $27,620.

GM says the 2012 Buick Verano will take on the Lexus IS 250, Infiniti G25 and Acura TSX when it goes on sale later this year.

The main edge over the competition is affordability, of course. The company will be able to attract young buyers to showrooms, significantly drop the average age of Buick customers and put up a serious fight in the entry-level luxury segment.
