Ford Launches Sustainability Campaign With Series of Short Videos

Ford-Launches-Sustainability-Campaign Ford announced the launch of a new campaign encouraging people to adopt a lifestyle devoted to environmental sustainability. The program includes a national electric vehicle education program, a multi-city tour, and finally the debut of a 10-film short documentary series.

Ford’s documentary series, The Big SHFT: 10 Innovators Changing Our World, goes beyond the automotive sector to put emphasis on people creating sustainable businesses to affect positive change around the world. The short film series will feature game-changing eco-entrepreneurs that have brought innovation in sustainability for areas ranging from food and fashion to urbanization, technology and design.

“It’s been truly inspiring creating our documentary series profiling 10 incredible visionaries committed to taking on the challenge of sustainability across some of the largest industries. This series continues our exciting partnership and allows us to recognize not only Ford Motor Company as an innovator in sustainability but specifically Bill Ford’s leadership on environmental and manufacturing solutions,” SHFT.com co-founder Adrian Grenier said.

Executive chairman of Ford Motor Company Bill Ford also said “sustainability is the biggest issue facing business in the 21st century, and the problem will not be solved by one person or group. How we answer the challenge of the future of mobility will have a lasting impact on generations to come. By partnering with organizations like SHFT, we are able to inspire people to make smart decisions about the products they choose today.”

The first two SHFT short films will profile TerraCycle CEO Tom Szaky, and Pepperdine University professor and former Patagonia CEO Michael Crooke. Featuring Szaky’s national recycling systems and plastics solutions and Crooke’s first university-led environmental certifications program, the short films honor the ideas each contributed and demonstrates the changes to society and lasting benefits.

From its EcoBoost and hybrid technology to its latest research on shredded-currency-based materials, Ford is actively dedicated to renewable energy and reusable materials, leading its sustainability campaign by example.
