Chevrolet Sonic SEMAChevrolet Sonic SEMA

Although horsepower and muscle cars are the undisputed masters of the 2011 SEMA show, there’s room for others to shine – even subcompact cars! Case in point: General Motors revealed a couple of diverse and oh-so-lovely Chevy Sonics.

A fuel-efficient racing machine, the Chevrolet Sonic Super 4 features several of GM’s Z-Spec accessories. We’re looking at a race-bred suspension, a low-resistance air intake system, a sport-tuned exhaust, 18” wheels, and a roll cage.

As for the Sonic All Activity Vehicle -- the perfect companion for a weekend getaway -- it's sporting 18” wheels, a roof rack (complete with a mountain bike and a wakeboard), a beautiful satin black paint job, and a customized cabin. Brembo brakes and a Borla exhaust system have also been thrown in for good measure.

The Sonic All Activity Vehicle – Ricky Carmichael Concept reflects the driver’s high-performance personality, with custom interior and exterior design cues, performance enhancements and an upgraded sound system. Carmichael is a 15-time American Motorcycle Association (AMA) champion, three-time X-Games gold medalist and NASCAR racer. The fully customized Sonic concept is equipped for adventure, with the storage capacity for biking and wakeboard equipment.
