Platinum will feature an in-your-face grille, unique wheels, and special interior trim. All XTS sedans use a 3.6-liter 300 hp V-6 with 264 lb-ft of torque, a six-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive. A Haldex-based all-wheel-drive system will be available, though Cadillac has not yet specified how much the system will cost. In the smaller Cadillac CTS, all-wheel drive is a $3200 extra.

Designed as a replacement for the DTS and STS, the 2013 Cadillac XTS will be the first Cadillac sold with the CUE infotainment system (the ATS and SRX get the system later this year.) To familiarize potential owners with CUE, Cadillac will be offering a CUE iPad app that mimics the system’s screen. For those needing more help, Cadillac will support the system through the XTS’ standard OnStar system.
