Beijing show: Peugeot Urban Crossover

Peugeot-Urban-Crossover Peugeot has unveiled a new global crossover concept at the Beijing motor show. The Peugeot Urban Crossover Concept has been styled collaboratively by Peugeot design studios in Paris, Shanghai and Sao Paulo and is designed to meet the future mobility needs of megacities.

The concept is 4140mm long and 1740mm wide. Its styling is reminiscent of the HR1 concept first seen at the Paris motor show in 2010. Peugeot claims it blends the “elegance and refinement” of a saloon with the “cheekiness and mischievousness” of an SUV.

The front-end styling builds on the look of the new 208. A raked windscreen and low roof contribute to a sleek profile. There are also flared arches and sculpted wings to contribute to the concept’s low, wide stance.

Peugeot says the double-bubble roof design and spoiler have been inspired by the RCZ coupĂ©. There’s also Peugeot’s ‘claw’ design for the lights at the front and rear.

On the concept’s positioning, Peugeot said: “[It] is the synthesis of Peugeot’s know-how in creating a small vehicle combining agility, compactness, multi-role ability and confident styling at the service of young city dwellers that like the city, live the city, creating the city, while still loving to escape it.”
