The Hyundai Veloster hasn’t even landed in Canada yet and rumours are already flying. Apparently the automaker is thinking of offering a four-door version, which is one door more than the car that’s supposed to hit dealerships later this year as a 2012 model.

Eunjoo Shin, Hyundai’s Overseas Product Planning Manager, reportedly said his employer was currently working on a more conventional hatchback car. Unfortunately, he didn’t go into further detail, and his colleagues declined to comment.
Sales of the model will likely be a key factor when the time comes to approve the project, but this is all just speculation at the moment. Still, we’ll definitely stay tuned.
The Veloster will be powered by a 1.6-litre, direct injection mill generating 138 hp and 123 ft-lb of torque. It will be delivered standard with a six-speed manual transmission, with a six-speed, dual-clutch autobox available as an option.
