When Infiniti unveiled their Essence Concept, we collectively caught out breath. Stunning lines coupled with an aggressive front nose, the Essence was gorgeous. Well, the Essence might not be hitting roads anytime soon, but the brand new 2012 Infiniti FX crossover will be, and it will sport a new front fascia reminiscent of the Essence.
Infiniti announced that the new FX lineup, which will be available nationwide in dealers in early October, will feature a new 20” wheel design and an updated instrument cluster. There will also be an FX35 Limited Edition model, of which only 550 units will be made (for the US), that will feature an exclusive exterior colour (Iridium Blue), 21” 10-spoke graphite-finish aluminum wheels, dark-tinted headlights, dark-tinted side air vents and a host of other design details that keep the mysterious, dark, graphite theme going throughout the vehicle.
Every new Infiniti will also come with Infiniti's new complimentary Infiniti Personal Assistant. No, this is not someone who will bring your coffee and post your bill payments for you. It is, however, a 24-hour help line for Infiniti owners that will offer, with the help of a team of live professionals, directory assistance, driving directions, weather forecasts, dining suggestions and so on. There will be no extra cost for the Infiniti Personal Assistant for the first four years of ownership.
The 2012 Infiniti FX will be offered in four model trims: FX50 AWD (5.0L V8), FX35 AWD and RWD (both with a 3.5L V6), and the FX Limited Edition which will also feature the 3.5L V6. Pricing starts at $43,450 USD (MSRP) for the FX35 RWD and goes up to $59,350 USD (MSRP) for the FX50 AWD.
