Hyundai has launched a super-efficient i20 Blue that emits just 98g/km of CO2 and averages 76.4mpg.
The i20 Blue is based on the 1.4 CRDI Comfort version. At £13,195 it's £950 more than the standard car but improves average economy by 9.1mpg.
To achieve its low emissions and high economy, the i20 Blue has Hyundai's stop-start system 'ISG' low-rolling-resistance tyres and some aerodynamic modifications.
Standard equipment includes alloy wheels, Bluetooth, electric door mirrors, air-conditioning and steering wheel-mounted controls.
The i20 Blue is on sale now.
i30 Blue?
The i20 Blue is the second Hyundai – following on from the i10 Blue – to drop below the 100g/km CO2 mark. While there are no plans at the moment to launch a sub-100g/km i30 Blue, a Hyundai spokesman confirmed it 'was a possibility'.
