If you’re stuck inside a cubicle and longing for the great outdoors, this video is sure to appeal to you. The new promotional video from Ford shows the 2012 F-150 SVT Raptor splashing through puddles and powersliding around muddy fields, just as its engineers intended.
Ostensibly the promotional video is meant to highlight the front-facing camera and limited-slip front differential that join the 2012 SVT Raptor’s specifications list. However, the gratuitous shots of Raptors crashing through muddy tracks, slinging mud around, and splashing through water make this one of the most entertaining promotional videos ever.
The new-for-2012 camera system works at speeds below 15 mph and is designed to help drivers locate big obstacles while traversing tricky terrain. The new Torsen limited-slip differential is said to help improve front-end grip, especially when climbing steep inclines. Other tweaks for the 2012 SVT Raptor include a new bodyside Raptor graphic, a new matte anodized interior trim package, new Euroflange wheels, and the addition of cooled seats to the Raptor’s Luxury package.
