In some instances, the chase is better than the catch – and this is just one of those. Porsche Works driver Patrick Long and Rolex Grand-Am GT champ Leh Keen go on a wild goose chase around Laguna Seca, as we get to know the backside (and frontside) of the 2012 911 Carrera S a little better.
Apparently, a close pursuit is a normal process for Porsche when it shoots its cars, and we can see why – there’s no better way than to see a hot piece of metal in action. A Cayman R (with Keen as the designated chaser) is decorated with a slew cameras and prepared to tail behind the 911.
The fun gets started around the first corner, as we witness Keen try to catch up to the 911. Want to know how we know he’s having fun? Check out the grin that slowly appears on his face at 24 seconds into the video, which quickly disappears as things start to get serious in trying to catch the 911 for some front-side shots.
The same cat-and-mouse game continues throughout the entire video, with a little bit of what Long saw in his rearview mirror. Not only is this video visually stimulating, but the new 911’s song at full tilt is also music to your ears.
