It’s highly doubtful that many of the showgoers at the Beijing auto show know a whole lot about London neighborhoods—let alone would get nostalgic upon seeing a namesake special edition Mini Cooper. Such a fact, however, has not stopped Mini from unveiling the latest (and hopefully last) of its recent esoteric series of special-edition models. Next week in China, Mini will introduce the Hyde Park, which joins the Cooper Baker Street, Bayswater, and Highgate convertible models that took the stage earlier this month at the New York auto show.
Available in both hatchback and Clubman body styles, this fourth limited-edition model wears a don’t-try-this-at-home color scheme of “Pepper White” and “Hot Chocolate.” The latter is used for the roof and mirror caps; on Clubman models, the C-pillars are color-coordinated to match the lower body. The hood and sides are striped in Hot Chocolate as well, while turn-signal indicators are in transparent white. Inside, matching black or beige and black upholstery greet the bum, while the eyes feast on a black and beige leather-lined dashboard and white trim bits. Both will be available in Cooper and Cooper S varieties in China, and we expect the same flavors to be offered here when they, along with other 2013 Minis, arrive in July. Pricing will be announced sometime in June.
