Select model-year 2013 Volkswagens will receive a four-year subscription to SiriusXM Traffic, a service that updates drivers with live traffic reports. The subscription is offered on certain models equipped with factory navigation systems.
The navigation systems eligible for the four-year subscription include the RNS 510 and RNS 850, which are offered on several Volkswagen models. The 6.5-inch touch-screen RNS 510 is available on the Passat, Tiguan, and CC, while the eight-inch touch-screen RNS 850 is used in the Touareg SUV. In addition to the four-year SiriusXM Traffic subscription, RNS 510 systems will also get a three-month trial of SiriusXM Travel Link, which offers information regarding fuel prices, weather reports, real-time sports updates, and local movie listings. Sirius XM’s traffic service normally costs $3.99 per month, while SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link bundled together is normally $5.99 per month.
The SiriusXM Traffic subscription comes in addition to the three-month trial subscription to Sirius XM satellite radio, which Volkswagen will continue to offer on models equipped with satellite-radio capable audio systems.
