Are you a fan of the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series coupe but can’t quite get the Mrs. to follow your rationale of purchasing one with a baby on the way? Well, Mercedes is about to provide you more ammo in the form of two rear doors. How could she say no to Mercedes-Benz safety, the practicality of four doors, and a hand-built V-8-engine that should ensure the kids are never late to school? She can’t.
It won’t have the same sex appeal as the C63 Black Series coupe, but it should definitely be one of the most sinister-looking sedans on the block. The current tester you see here is sporting crude, taped-on plastic body kit so expect the finished product to look a bit more, umm, finished. And fast. It will also be the first Black Series available with four doors. Unlike its coupe counterpart – we can’t see the deletion of rear seats being standard, but the rear bench could be jettisoned in favor of twin rear buckets.
Most important is what’s under the hood. Expect the sedan to house the same M156, 6.2-liter V-8 with a power output of 510 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque found in the coupe. Its 0-60 mph should hover around four seconds flat. The requisite Black Series bits and pieces should also make its way into the sedan including a road-gripping suspension and tire combination, composite brakes, sport bucket seats, and carbon fiber galore. We don’t know when it will arrive, but this is definitely one of the most exciting sleepers we’ll see in awhile. Stay tuned.
