What a Ford Focus Looks Like After a 120-mph Crash

Fifth-Gear-Ford-Focus-120-MPH-crash-test-remains The sounds of twisted metal and shattered glass during a car accident are enough to make you cringe, but the sights of a crash test conducted by “Fifth Gear” serves as an eerie reminder of why you should second-guess putting the pedal to the metal in an uncontrolled environment.

This is the show’s fastest car crash they have ever organized, and according to the host, experts knew the deformation would be so great that they were not willing to use their expensive crash test dummies for such a test.  Instead, of couple of store mannequins were chosen to meet their fate as they blast forward toward a concrete wall at 120 mph in a Ford Focus.

The idea behind the test was to simulate the impact of a head-on collision between two cars going such high speeds, which is probable considering many small modern cars are capable of hitting 120 mph.
