Swedish carmaker Volvo is to increase its diesel engine line-up in Europe – with the introduction of a new five-cylinder, 2.0litre turbo model.
The engine will be featured in the Volvo S60, Volvo V60 (pictured), Volvo V70, Volvo XC60 and Volvo S80 models. It has an output of 136hp and maximum torque of 350Nm and will come with a choice between a manual and automatic gearbox. It will also come with a start-stop system in all variants except the XC60 D3.
What’s notable is that all diesel powered versions of the S60, S80, V60 and V80 will have CO2 emissions below the 120g/km threshold. In addition, the new diesel engine line-up will include: the D2 with 115hp (86 kW), the D4 with 163hp (122 kW) and the D5 with 215hp (160 kW).
