According to Car and Driver, GM plans to launch a civilized version of the Chevrolet Caprice PPV police car. It will be a rear-wheel-drive, four-door sedan with potentially the Camaro's 415-horsepower 6.2L V8 engine. A 3.6L V6 generating upwards of 320 horsepower will follow at a later date.
This SuperSport will be short-lived, however, since a next-generation model based on the Zeta II platform is scheduled for late 2014 or early 2015. When this happens, full production will shift from Australia to North America.
Also under consideration for the Zeta II platform are a sport wagon and a utility pickup truck. Two Buicks designed for the Chinese market will benefit from this modern architecture as well, with one of them (or both?) possibly coming to our shores if it's determined that Buick needs large RWD cars.
