The 2013 Toyota Auris was revealed at Paris the 2012 Paris Motor Show, as well as showing off a new variant, the extended length Touring Sport hybrid model. An update Verso seven-passenger compact people-carrier was also presented in Paris. If this is still not enough five doors for you, consider Toyota also sells the Prius+ in Europe, sold in the U.S. as the Prius V, although the Prius+ can carry up to seven passengers, whereas the U.S.-spec V only seats five.
The 2013 Toyota Auris measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,760 mm in width and 1,460 mm in height. In comparison to its predecessor, the 2013 Auris is longer, lower and 40 kg lighter. At the same time it offers more room for its passengers and their luggage.
And because everyone knows how Europeans like wagons, Toyota also introduced the Auris Sport Touring model, which runs on the same wheelbase 102.4 inches that regular Auris, which, coincidentally, is the same wheelbase as the hatch Matrix U.S. spec, but extends over 11 inches, a length of 179.5 cm-together. That it takes approximately within 2 inches of the total length of the Prius V, which is based on a wheelbase 109.4 inches much longer.
Sports Touring Auris and Prius V, from the same 1.8-liter, 134 hp hybrid powertrain net. The hybrid powertrain is also available on the regular Auris, in addition to a diesel engine of 1.4 liter and 1.3 liter and 1.6 liter four-cylinder gasoline.
Toyota claims improved fuel economy for all models across-the-board, aided by a lower height tower, improved aerodynamics, and auto stop-start on gas and diesel 1.3 liter 1, 4 liters.
