Like Formula 1 cars and the road-going Lotus Evora? Fortunately the two can now be combined, as Lotus has launched a special GP Edition of the Evora S painted to look like the company’s F1 racers. Autocar reports that just three copies of the unique cars are being built.
Key to the car’s design are black paint with gold accents, red mirror housings, and red accenting on the aerodynamic splitter and diffuser. The car also wears gold-colored wheels. All of this makes the modified Evora similar to the design employed by Lotus Renault GP’s Formula 1 race cars, which are black with gold wheels, gold accents, and red-painted uprights for the front and rear wings.
The livery is reminiscent of the Evora Enduro GT Concept that bowed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, which is pictured above.
In addition, the limited-run cars received Lotus’s Premium package with upgraded upholstery, a backup camera, and the Technology package. Pricing in the U.K. reportedly starts at £69,950, representing a premium of about 12 percent over the cost of a standard Evora S.
A Lotus spokesman told us that a small number of GP Edition cars would be making their way to the U.S. market, but we have yet to learn how many or how much they will cost.
