Oshawa, Ontario – The 2012 Buick LaCrosse eAssist, expected to deliver up to a 21 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency over the current four-cylinder model, will start at $34,415 when it goes on sale later this year.
“LaCrosse with eAssist is the smart choice for Canadians who want great fuel efficiency without sacrificing the driving dynamics and passenger comfort that have made Buick the fastest-growing major automotive brand in North America,” said Marc Comeau, Canadian vice-president of Buick marketing.
The LaCrosse with eAssist uses a variety of advanced technologies and body enhancements to deliver an expected 5.4 L/100 km on the highway, which GM said is better than or equal to the Lexus HS Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The “light electrification” system uses a lithium-ion battery system and electric motor-generator that enables regenerative braking capability.
The 2012 LaCrosse will also offer a new, more powerful and more efficient version of the direct-injured 3.6-litre V6.
