Volvo Australia has unveiled a hot prototype version of the Volvo S60 T6, dubbed S60 Performance Project.
The new hardcore Volvo is based on the Volvo S60 T6 R Design and gets an engine software upgrade courtesy of in-house tuners Polestar as well as external tweaks from Heico.
Power has been increased by 24bhp to 325bhp, with torque up by 30lb ft to 354lb ft. “Up to 22 per cent gains in power and torque at various parts of the rev range” have also been achieved, according to Volvo.
Exterior features of the new car include 19-inch Heico wheels and a newly designed exhaust system. Inside, the R Design cabin remains unchanged.
Volvo’s Australian managing director Matt Braid said: ``The S60 T6 already boasts excellent performance credentials and the S60 Performance Project takes that even further. With the extra power, torque and unique wheels and exhaust system the S60 Performance Project really is a very special edition S60.''
Volvo Australia has not yet confirmed whether the car will be produced but has said: “Depending on customer demand there may be the option to build the S60 show car in limited numbers.”
