More details of the new model from EV sports car maker, Fisker, have been revealed ahead of the model’s debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.
The focus of this week’s Green Piece Column (available here), Fisker has released a sketch picture of the new model since our feature was written, giving us all a better idea of what we can expect at Frankfurt.
The new car is called Surf and is a reinterpretation of the shooting break concept. A station wagon type model, the car is expected to feature the company’s range-extended drivetrain technology featured in its first model, the Karma. If the Surf has similar performance and eco-credentials as this first, four seat sedan model, then we can expect an all-electric range of 50 miles and an extended range of over 300 miles thanks to a supporting petrol engine. Performance wise, the car generates 408 horsepower, is capable of reaching 60mph in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph top speed.
Fisker says it is keeping the details of the new model secret until the show but does say that the new car will benefit from its ‘Uncompromised Responsible Luxury’ approach and head-turning design DNA.
More will be reveal on September 13, when the Frankfurt Motor Show opens to the press.
