Because the Rolls-Royce Ghost shares its 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V-12 with the BMW 760 Li, the 2010 Ghost is being recalled for the same water pump issue that’s also affecting some 32,000 turbocharged V-8- and V-12-powered BMW models.
The Problem: The circuit board for the auxiliary water pump in the turbocharged V-12 engine could potentially overheat. If that occurs, it could cause the pump or entire engine to smolder and potentially cause a fire.
The Fix:Rolls-Royce will contact owners later this month to notify them of the campaign. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the water pump at no cost. Customers can contact Rolls-Royce at 1-877-877-3735.
