GM representatives take viewers on a walk-around tour of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala in a new video released this week. Jon Hahn, Impala marketing manager; and Russ Clark, marketing director for Chevrolet Performance & Mid-Size Vehicles show off the Impala’s newest styling and latest technologies at the New York auto show.
Hahn explains the 2014 Impala, along with the 2013 Traverse crossover, show Chevy’s new design direction. The new look gives the large sedan a long, low, and wide stance and, GM says, the Impala is available with the largest wheels in its class at 20 inches. On the inside Clark shares how designers gave the 2014 Impala more space and the latest technology without neglecting the details.
The base engine is a 195-hp, 2.5-liter Ecotec I-4. An eAssist mild hybrid system is available, and offers 182 horsepower from its 2.4-liter gas engine and electric motor combined. The top engine is GM’s 303-hp 3.6-liter V-6. All engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
